Pioneering pharmacist scoops top honour
The first pharmacist to qualify as a credentialled diabetes educator (CDE) has been named the top educator of the year in South Australia.
Kirrily Chambers, pictured, who works across three pharmacies in the Green Dispensary group, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 10, and found her experience with the health system was “not always the easiest”.
So it was an obvious choice for her to become an educator.
“One of the biggest stumbling blocks early in my diagnosis was being able to find easy access to education,” she says.
