EXCLUSIVE: Federal Health Minister Tanya Plibersek has attempted to quell fears about a multimillion-dollar tax grab on medical education, suggesting the real target will be doctors claiming tax breaks for medical junkets.

Plans to cap tax deductions for work-related, self-education expenses to just $2000 a year have alarmed the medical profession, which is warning that thousands of doctors would be left substantially out of pocket for their mandatory CPD and broader medical training.
