Pollies pledge to boost profession

Australia is missing a beat in not making greater use of pharmacists in primary healthcare, leading opposition politicians believe.

Both Federal opposition leader Bill Shorten and Australian Greens leader Dr Richard Di Natale indicated their desire to see pharmacists play a greater clinical and professional service role, in addition to expanding their core medication management function.   

“The perspective of pharmacists is often absent from our major health policy debates,” said Senator Di Natale, a GP.

“Robust discussions
