Polypill improves CVD management: study

The much mooted ‘polypill’ idea has been shown to boost medication compliance and reduce risk factors in patients with cardiovascular disease, new research presented at the world’s largest cardiology conference shows.

A polypill containing fixed doses of aspirin, a statin, an ace-inhibitor and a beta-blocker was tested in more than 3,000 patients deemed at high risk of MI or stroke by researchers at The George Institute for Global Health in Sydney.
