Pool poos linked to rise in gastroenteritis

Cryptosporidial gastroenteritis is on the rise in Australia and faecal contamination of swimming pools is largely to blame, an expert says.

Federal Government figures show there have already been 1400 cryptosporidiosis cases nationwide this year, compared with 1800 in the whole of last year, and 1480 in 2010.
