The Pharmacy Guild might have landed a powerful government ally in its fight for pharmacists to continue to supply codeine without prescription.

NSW branch president Rick Samimi has met NSW health minister Brad Hazzard twice in the last fortnight to discuss issues arising from the upscheduling of codeine.

He also outlined the Guild’s proposal for suitably trained pharmacists to continue to supply codeine for occasional acute pain.
