Prison smoking ban a 'human rights' abuse

Newly enforced bans on smoking in prisons will do little to benefit the health of inmates and will instead create a powder keg of tension, prisoner advocates say.

One former prisoner, Brett Collins, co-founder of prisoner advocacy group Justice Action, has labelled the bans that were introduced in NSW this month as needless punitive measures that infringe upon human rights.
