Probiotics can prevent diarrhoea

Probiotics are effective at preventing and treating antibiotic-associated diarrhoea — a "massive problem" in Australia — large-scale research suggests.

Consumption of live microorganisms, most commonly Lactobacillus, alongside antibiotics reduced the risk of diarrhoea by 42%, a meta-analysis of 63 randomized controlled trials found.
