Professions unite to ‘scrap the cap’

More than 20 professions have joined doctors in demanding that Kevin Rudd scrap plans for a cap on tax deductions for self-education expenses, fearing it will hurt the economy.

A communiqué opposing the introduction of a $2,000 cap was released Sunday and signed by 22 professional bodies, including health professional, law, accountancy, engineering and education groups.
