Prosthetic hand with feeling
9th October 2014
US scientists have reported progress in the development of a prosthetic hand that conveys sensation its wearer.

They report that implanted peripheral nerve interfaces in two people with upper limb amputation have provided natural touch sensation in their hands during more than a year of laboratory experiments.
Patterned stimulation intensity produced a sensation that the subjects described as natural and without “tingling,” or paresthesia, they report in the journal Science Translational Medicine
