Proton pump inhibitors linked to dementia risk

The use of proton pump inhibitors is associated with increased risk of dementia, according to results from a seven-year study including almost 74,000 elderly people.

Regular users of PPIs have a 44% higher risk of dementia than those not on the medication, the research shows.
