PSA releases five principles of health screening
The PSA is sending out a strong message about what pharmacy should aim for when providing screening services.
In a new five-point position statement, it says screening should be provided only by trained pharmacists, address an unmet need and be backed by strong evidence.
There is “strong evidence” for cost-effective screening for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and kidney disease in pharmacies, says PSA National President Joe Demarte (pictured).
