PSR legislation review could lead to PBS restrictions

The inquiry produced seven recommendations, including that the methodology used by Medicare to identify GPs suspected of inappropriate practice be better explained and that the PSR be given powers to pursue corporate abuse of the MBS and PBS.

The government response, released yesterday, said the health department would review legislation governing sanctions available to the determining authority.
