Psychiatric drugs behind 30% of poisonings

Sleeping pills, antidepressants and other psychiatric disorder drugs account for nearly one-third of all accidental pharmaceutical poisonings which require hospital treatment, a report says.

Figures released by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare shows there were more than 400,000 Australians hospitalised due to injury between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2009.
