Psychiatrist attacks ‘anti-benzodiazepine hysteria’

An Australian psychiatrist has criticised what he describes as negative and biased attitudes towards the use of benzodiazepines for treating anxiety.

Associate Professor Vladan Starcevic of the Nepean Hospital in Sydney, says they have been unfairly “vilified” because of concerns about pharmacological dependence.
