Pushing the envelope
Dr Louise Phillips of Albany Hills, Qld, has stopped putting her referral letters in envelopes, unless the patient particularly wants one.
Not only does this demonstrate her green credentials in the pre-carbon-tax era, it also saves a little time spent writing details on the envelope.
But perhaps the main benefit is that the patient will probably read the letter.
This can possible reinforce the clinical message.
