Q&A: Uni interviews overlook 'quiet achievers'

When it emerged last month that the proportion of female graduate entrants at the University of Queensland's medical school had plummeted by 22% in just four years, a familiar debate around selecting medical school entrants ignited once more.

The fall in female numbers appears to stem from the scrapping of interview-based assessmentsat the school in 2009.
