Questions over flu and pneumococcal vax schedules

AN Australian study has found that influenza vaccine effectiveness for preventing childhood hospitalisations in 2014 was 55%, which is considered a moderate result.

The vaccine effectiveness was high (92%) for the H1N1 subtype of Influenza A, but fell off for other subtypes.

The research, published in Eurosurveillance last week, will help inform the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI),
