There appears to be no scientific rationale for published maximum doses of methylphenidate for treatment of ADHD in children and adolescents, according to an Australian meta-analysis.

Researchers from Sydney University and Western Sydney University investigated the doses used in published studies in their systematic review of 49 articles, including 11 randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and 38 cohort studies of children up to the age of 18 with ADHD who were dosed by titration.
