RACGP concerned over Lyme disease treatment

Using long-term antibiotics to treat patients with Lyme-like illness can cause harm, including antimicrobial resistance, a spokesman for the RACGP says.

“Whatever success individual doctors have with their patients, we cannot support many of the treatments currently being used or advocated for in patients with chronic Lyme-like illness,” says college spokesperson Professor Nigel Stocks.
