RACGP to reveal interventions GPs should avoid

The RACGP is set to reveal five common interventions it wants GPs to avoid as part of a campaign across the medical profession to reduce unnecessary tests, scans, prescriptions and procedures.

The Choosing Wisely initiative involves five medical colleges — including the RACGP and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia — who have teamed up to provide a list of their specialty's overused interventions.
