Rates of golden staph on the slide

There has been a marked fall in the rate of Staphylococcus aureus (golden staph) infections in Australian hospitals, according to a results from a study of 115 large public and private hospitals.

The number of infections - both treatable and antibiotic-resistant - fell by 100 from 2012-13 and  2013-14, representing a drop of 6%.
