RDAA announces new president

Queensland GP Dr Sheilagh Cronin has been named the RDAA’s new president, a role she says she will dedicate to ensuring rural communities have robust, sustainable medical services.

As a strong advocate of the Rural Generalist Training Pathway, Dr Cronin (pictured) has pledged to fight  the de-skilling of rural health care workers and the erosion of health services, which she says is putting these areas at risk.

She believes a balance needs to be struck between urban centers of medical excellence and local services delivered
