Reassurance over Champix, Zyban

Quit-smoking drugs do not increase the risk of major psychiatric problems, a study of more than 100,000 smokers shows.

People who used varenicline (Champix) or bupropion (Zyban) for three months had no increased risk of suicide, self-harm or depression compared with those on nicotine replacement therapy, the research found.
