Reel enjoyment at doctors’ film night

FROM a wizard washing windows to the mysteries of the sex lives of krill, the Cinematic Doctors Night, held by the AMA (NSW) Creative Doctors Network (CDN) last week, had it all.

Founder Dr Tony Chu said film-makers were the smallest segment of the 300-member network, but some of the most passionate.

“The group is comprised of doctors who are writers in their spare time, and painters, or poets or actors or anything creative,” he said.

“We had a great turnout to the film night and some great discussion about the techniques people used in creating their films and the thinking behind them.”

The film night featured short comedies such as Wizard Window Washing from retired GP Dr Frank McLeod, animation from Dr Lisa Roberts (PhD), and the film Do Krill Have Sex? 

from Dr Ken Wilson, which formed part of a recent scientific paper.
