Reprimand for nurse who injected drunk colleague with metoclopramide at GP practice Christmas party
A registered nurse who injected a drunk colleague with metoclopramide (Maxolon) at a work Christmas party after taking the drug from her practice has been reprimanded.
The nurse was waiting with other staff for a minibus to take them to the event when she went back to the clinic to grab an ampoule of metoclopramide IM without permission, the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal heard.
At the party, she injected the intoxicated colleague with metoclopramide into the left arm when the pair visited the venue’s toilet together.
The nurse had also been drinking, the tribunal heard.
