Revealed: The health practitioners at most risk of complaints

Health practitioners who are male and older than 45 are most likely to receive complaints, according to an Australian study of 8000 AHPRA notifications.

Practitioners aged 45 or older were at least twice as likely as those aged 35 or younger to receive a complaint, the study found.

And male health practitioners were more than twice as likely as female health practitioners to receive a complaint.

The study, published in BMC Medicine, comes amid the consultation on a revalidation system for doctors, which could mean regulators attempting to identify and assess “at risk&rdquo
