Ridiculous: GPs angry at 'ethical dilemma' policy in new practice standards

They say the changes will cost thousands of dollars to implement

Practice owners say they will have to spend thousands of dollars developing “ridiculous” written policies on ethical dilemmas and specialist fees in order to meet the RACGP’s new practice standards.


From November, practices seeking accreditation will be assessed against a revised version of the standards, with new requirements on using social media, alerting patients to potential fees when making referrals, and dealing with seriously abnormal test results after-hours.
