Rural Health Channel launches: TV

Rural GPs as well as patients will be targeted with programs on a new free-to-air-health channel, with programs on subjects such as MBS billing.

The Rural Health Channel, which officially launched Tuesday, will provide 24 hours of health programming every week in a bid to boost the health of rural and remote communities - it hopes to reach 250,000 households by the end of 2013.

Programs consist of a mixture of public health messages, promoting healthy lifestyles and behaviours, educational programs for up-skilling health professionals
