Scientist discovers the secrets of orgasm
The evolutionary function of the orgasm has been much discussed, but many of its underlying mechanisms have remained elusive.
However, an American neuroscientist thinks he may have some answers. He has come up with a model showing how rhythmic sexual activity influences brain rhythms that in turn lead to the “altered state of consciousness” needed for climaxing.
In a paper published the journal Socioaffective, Neuroscience and Psychology, Dr Adam Safron from Northwestern University describes how “rhythmic stimulation can enhance neural oscillations at corresponding frequencies”, which
