Sex with patients: hypnotherapist banned
Joe Levonian, from Sydney’s north, also breached the code of conduct for unregistered health professionals when he had sex with a third woman who had consulted him to quit smoking, the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) said.
HCCC commissioner Kieran Pehm said that although the women involved in the research had signed forms allowing him to touch them intimately, Mr Levonian was “reckless”, a risk to public safety, and “displayed little appreciation of the importance in maintaining professional boundaries”.
The commission heard Mr Levonian’s code of conduct breaches began in January last year when a woman approached him for help to quit smoking. At their fifth session, at the woman’s house, Mr Levonian gave the woman a massage and the two had consensual sex, the commission heard.
