'Sexting' not a sex offence: teen experts

Youth mental health advocates are calling for the law to be changed to stop teenagers who share naked photos of themselves or their friends on the internet from being put on the sex offenders register.

The Victorian Government has launched a parliamentary inquiry into so-called ‘sexting’, considering whether the penalties ought to be changed.

Under current state laws anyone sending sexual images of people under 18 electronically can be prosecuted
