Sexual misconduct doctors banned by RANZCP

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists has come under fire for its tough new stance on sexual misconduct that permanently bars some doctors from the fellowship.

Under a policy change introduced quietly last May, psychiatrists who are expelled or resign from the college as a result of being found guilty of a sexual-boundary violation by the Medical Board of Australia cannot be reinstated.
