Simpler prostate grading on the way

A simpler and more accurate grading system for prostate tumours will be introduced to replace the Gleason system, the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) says.

The college’s outgoing president, Associate Professor Peter Stewart, says a five-grade International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) system is superior to the Gleason system, which has been used since the 1960s.
