Sitting leads to snoring

Fluid retention in the legs when sitting is an important contributor to upper airway narrowing when a person becomes recumbent, says an Australian pulmonologist and sleep specialist.

The average person accumulates around 250ml of fluid in their calves after four hours of sitting, says Dr Bhajan Singh, a speaker at the 2014 scientific meeting of the Australasian Sleep Association.
