Sleep deprivation doesn’t predict seizure recurrence

Not getting enough sleep may be a trigger for a first seizure but it doesn’t make a second one any more or less likely, WA researchers find.

Their study looked at over 1,000 patients with first-ever unprovoked seizures, of which 20% were associated with sleep deprivation.
Patients who were sleep deprived were slightly less likely to have a recurrence, the researchers from the Royal Perth Hospital found, although after analysis they concluded sleep deprivation
