Small practices have fewer unplanned admissions

Solo GPs and small practices have lower rates of preventable patient admissions than larger practices, according to a study that shows bigger is not always better.

The research into 1745 US practices found that those staffed by one or two GPs had a 33% lower unplanned hospital admission rate for their patients, compared with practices with 10-19 GPs.
