Software bungle in rush for e-health records

A major bureaucratic bungle has halted work on the GP software needed to run the e-health records system, with insiders saying political pressure to meet deadlines for its launch are to blame for the gaffe.

The Federal Government has repeatedly said patients would be able to “sign up” for personally controlled electronic health records (PCEHR) from 1 July under its $467 million program.
