Specialist banned after 'bizarre' GP advice

An endocrinologist who for a year advised GPs that atorvastatin was poison and that low oestrogen levels cause violence has finally been struck off.

The Sydney doctor, Shaheen Qasim, was reported to regulators as far back as 2005 for "bizarre" behaviour, including bringing out a tape recorder when people had conversations with her, and burying rubbish under flowerbeds at her home.
