‘Start low, go slow’ in antidepressant prescribing

Exceeding the recommended dose of antidepressant medication significantly increases the risk of suicidal ideation, according to a French study of more than 750 outpatients with depression.

This means it might be best for prescribers to “start low, go slow” when initiating a treatment for depression, they say.
