Statins boost cancer survival

People survive longer with cancer if they are taking statins at the time of diagnosis, a large study suggests.

The study of 300,000 middle-aged Danish cancer patients found those taking statins at the time of their diagnosis were 15% less likely to die from cancer, or any cause, over the next 2-14 years.

This was compared to their peers who had never used statins.
