Thousands sign petition to stop regulator linking tribunal results to public register

Doctors have launched a campaign calling for AHPRA to stop putting links to the results of tribunal cases involving individual doctors on its practitioner register.

Last month, the regulator began adding the web links, claiming it would make it easier for patients to see whether their doctors have been formally accused of misconduct.

AHPRA says the links are there to protect patient safety and that it will write the words ‘no adverse findings’ beneath those rulings where no misconduct was found and no punitive measures were incurred by the doctor.
