Stethoscopes key to impressing patients

Don’t bother framing your medical degree - the key to getting patients to trust you is to hang a stethoscope around your neck.

A Perth study has found that people were most likely to describe someone as trustworthy if they were pictured with a stethoscope.

Photographs showing a man with three or more items typically found in a doctor’s bag - including an otoscope, tendon hammer and a pen - received significantly higher ratings than photos with one or no such items.
