Sticking the needle in

In an Australian first more than 50 South Australian pharmacists can now administer the influenza vaccine without the assistance of a registered nurse.

South Australian Health Minister Jack Snelling says these pharmacists would join the many GPs and registered nurses across the state in offering the 2015 seasonal influenza vaccine.

This is the first time in Australia; pharmacists have completed the required training program and are now eligible to vaccinate patients in their pharmacies.
