Stop recommending allergy milk formulas: review

Hydrolysed infant milk formulas offer no protection against allergies and should not be recommended in guidelines, according to a new systematic review.

Infant feeding guidelines that recommend hydrolysed formula instead of cows milk protein formula for prevention of allergies are based on wishful thinking and biased industry-sponsored studies, according to UK researchers who conducted a new meta-analysis of 37 trials of hydrolysed formula.
