Stress test delay okay for patients

Outpatient exercise stress tests for cardiac patients may be delayed for 10 days without compromising care, Australian research suggests.

A Sydney study has shown intermediate-risk patients with negative ECGs and cardiac biomarkers had very low rates of major cardiovascular disease and adverse events when exercise stress tests were performed 10 days after ED discharge — more than a week later than current recommendations.
