Student clinics foster a team care approach

Health science students from the University of Melbourne have opened Australia’s first truly student-run interprofessional clinic at Doutta Galla Community Health Service in Melbourne.

The term ‘student-run’ refers to the fact that the service has been developed and the clinic run solely by the initiative of volunteer students.

It was undeniably thrilling to sit back and watch teams of medical, nursing, physiotherapy and social work students sit in small, earnest clusters as they planned the management of clients who had come to their clinic
