Study weighs up importance of exercise vs BMI
People who are obese can maintain good cardiovascular health as long as they undertake regular exercise, say researchers from New York University.
They have conducted a study that shows keeping fit may be more important than losing weight for people with severe obesity.
The results suggest people with a BMI greater than 40, who are at significantly increased risk of cardiovascular conditions, appear to reap the greatest health benefits of exercise without losing weight.
