Summer violence worries specialist
One of Australia’s leading emergency medicine specialists is predicting a bad summer after a worrying weekend at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.
The most high-profile case was that of a 21-year-old male who was admitted after a one-punch attack at Bondi Beach. He was put into an induced coma, but has since been discharged. His 32-year-old alleged attacker is facing serious charges.
Professor Gordian Fulde said the lock-out laws had helped over the past few months, but “this weekend has been so scary".
