Super clinics should embrace teaching, not 5-minute medicine

A GPRA report on attitudes of medical students and recent graduates, published last week, listed one of the “disadvantages of choosing GP as a specialty” as “concerns with motivations of super clinics”.

GPRA CEO Amit Vohra said the concern appeared to stem from a belief among future GPs that “some of these super clinics run as five minute medicine centres [where] it’s all bulk billing, you walk in and walk out, there’s no relationship with the patient”.
